Our Projects

Melody meet Math

Melody Meets Math is a one-of-a-kind Indian classical concert that explores the intricate relationship between music and mathematics. Rooted in the rich traditions of rāga and tāla, the performance delves into rhythmic complexity and melodic beauty—highlighting how structure and emotion intertwine. Blending classical elements like konnakol with playful references to Western motifs such as the Mission: Impossible theme, it offers a cross-cultural dialogue through sound. Whether you're a seasoned listener or a curious newcomer, this concert invites you to discover the harmony between logic and lyricism.

Navarasa

The Navarasa, or "nine emotions," is a concept rooted in Indian aesthetics, particularly in dance, theater, and music. It represents nine primary emotional states that can be evoked in the human experience: love (śṛngāra), humor (hāsya), compassion (karuṇā), anger (raudra), courage (vīra), fear (bhayānaka), disgust (bībhatsa), wonder (adbhuta), and peace (śānta). Indian classical music, especially through its use of ragas, can evoke each of these emotions, with each raga associated with a specific time of day, season, or emotional mood. Below, we explore how each emotion can be expressed musically through the ragas of Indian classical music.

"Ritu’’ is a performance project that celebrates the six seasons—Spring (Vasanta), Summer (Grishma), Monsoon (Varsha), Autumn (Sharad), Pre-Winter (Hemanta), and Winter (Shishira)—through the evocative power of Indian classical music. Each season is expressed with ragas, lyrics, and musical arrangements that capture its unique moods, colors, and transitions. The performance blends traditional Carnatic music with global musical influences, creating a vibrant tapestry of sound.

Eternal echoes

The recording project, Eternal Echoes: Timeless Gems of Carnatic Music, reimagines the timeless beauty of Carnatic music through ten iconic compositions that have left an indelible mark on Indian classical music. These songs, celebrated for their melodic richness and emotive depth, will be presented with a modern twist, incorporating global instruments such as the piano, cello, guitar, or saxophone alongside traditional accompaniments like the violin and mridangam. This innovative fusion will retain the authenticity of the original compositions while creating a contemporary soundscape that resonates with a global audience.
